Form follows function
There is a basic principle of architecture that teach us an important thing: form follows function. Of course, there are exceptions and poetic licence, but in most cases an architectural project must first be functional and then be beautiful.
Web development is similiar or worst. When a person is in a building and find difficulties, he or she tries to overcome them. But when he is on a site, he simply leaves. And leaves quickly. Studies show that users decide if they stay or leave in less than 42 seconds. So a good usability is essential.
We don’t defend the idea that sites need only to be functional. We understand the value of aesthetics and you can check it through our portfolio. But we always think first about function.
Sometimes it even contradicts the initial desires of our customers, but we insist because we know that a site with good return on investment is primarily a website where users can complete their tasks.
