Usability generates return on investment

Return on investment is the main objective for most of systems and sites on the internet. When we publish something on the web, we’re expecting return on investment (not only money, but other types of feedbacks too).

To achieve this goal, web developers already tried a lot of ways on the past ten years. Simple text sites, frames, Flash animations, sounds and a lot of stuff.

Researchs and studies prove that usability is the most effective way to generate return on investment for websites. Usability is a term used to denote the ease with which people can employ a particular tool or other human-made object in order to achieve a particular goal.

An easy-to-use website makes users find informations or complete tasks without difficulties. A happy user returns to a site more times, creating a relatioship with the site’s owner (a person or a company). On the other hand, a complex website makes users go away in just 40 seconds.

The practice of simplicity must be applied seriously on web projects, because it gives a reach user experience for your consumers.
